January Updates and Announcements

Where I’m at and what’s coming up for HBLogs!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday. I hope that it was restful and that you are as happy as I am to be letting go of 2020 – 2021 here we come!

I enjoyed some time away from work, the opportunity to rest, and spent a lot of quality time with my husband and fur-kids. Zooms calls, good food, and sleep go a long way in improving one’s wellbeing (especially in a pandemic). I hope you also enjoyed my holiday related content too, I really enjoyed putting it together for you.

I am feeling more hopeful and energized moving into to 2021, while we are not out of the hardship, we are moving forward. I have a few announcements for HBLogs and where this wonderful space on the internet is headed in the next couple of months!

1. I will be changing my upload schedule, or more accurately keeping it the same. When I started this blog back in April of 2020, I decided that I wanted to upload blog posts twice a week. And that was a great goal that really set my content in motion and made me more comfortable with writing and posting. However for the month of December, I went down to one upload a week as I had taken on some additional work teaching dance and needed a creative break.

What I noticed during this past month is how much better I was able to plan my posts, I could dedicate more time to them as well as edit them better. This slower uploading schedule was not only beneficial to my mental health and creative energy but also I think to the content. More than anything else (boosting numbers etc.) I want to create quality content for my followers that help them and that are enjoyable to read. But I also want to try to practice what I preach which is a balanced life that focuses on our wellbeing – physical, mental, and spiritual.

So, I hope that you understand and support my decision to keep uploading once a week on Monday afternoons. If you are looking for more content from me, you can head over to Instagram and follow me there where I post throughout the week in my stories.

2. I am working on a new blog series called “What Does This Have To Do With Wellness?”. This series will try to get at the root of why I created HBLogs and will discuss why I think the different topics I post most frequently about are important to wellness & mental health. This series will not only delve into mental health and wellness but hopefully also let you get to know me more and better understand my perspective. Currently, it is looking like it will be a 4 part series and I hope to be launching this a little later in January 2021! Stay tuned!

3. I will be launching a new creative writing project that I have been working on for the past year! I won’t give away too much now, but let’s just say it is a writing format that I haven’t posted in before. I don’t have an exact date set for it yet, as again it’s important to me that it be fully ready before unveiling, but look for it in the upcoming weeks!

This past year I conquered so much in setting up this blog, a lot of which was fear and self-doubt. I can’t wait to share with you what I’ve been working on and to see where it takes us – this community – in the new year. Thank you as always for following along on this written journey.
