Living Snow Globe

First in tiny flecks, then like tufts of cotton.

Drifting, floating, dancing down.

The world slows, becomes quiet and muffled.

The dark tree branches the only contrast on a grey sky, creating a soft silhouette.

So peaceful, tranquil.

One can do nothing else but stop, look up, and twirl with arms outstretched to catch a few flakes.

Resting gently on cheeks, eye lashes, and melting on warm tongues.

The whole street, the whole city seems just as a shaken snow globe glistening and swirling.

A moment of natural beauty captured and frozen.
